Home The Father's addresses AN ADDRESS TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA AND ALL NIGERIANS

AN ADDRESS TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA AND ALL NIGERIANS ON THE OCCASION OF THE 10TH ANNINVERARY OF DEMOCACY IN NIGERIA BY HIS HOLINESS KING OLUMBA OLUMBA OBU, THE KING OF KINGS AND THE LORD OF LORDS CHAIRMAN, BROTHERHOOD OF THE CROSS AND STAR EXECUTIVE COUNCIL / HEAD OF ADMINISTRATION

My Beloved President and Nigerians,

Let the peace and blessings of God Almighty abide with you all and the entire world in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.It is with utmost delight and gratitude to Our Heavenly Father that I send this message of goodwill to the presidency and all Nigerians this day marking the 10th Anniversary of Democracy in the Republic of Nigeria.I use this occasion to thank God for the great works He has done in this country, one of which is shielding and protecting Nigeria from all evil tendencies and plans that would have destabilised the peace and the success of our democracy.

The Holy Father had in 1988 declared that there will be no more coup de tat in Nigeria. He stated that no coup de tat or any violent take-over of government will succeed again in Nigeria. He also said any person or group of individuals who plot to take over the reins of government by violent means are already doomed, and so it is and shall remain. Any leadership is of God instituted by God for a purpose. So every citizen is expected to respect the government of the day.
To this end, I call on the Government of Nigeria and indeed all Nigerians, both home and abroad to do away with ethnic, language, economical, political, cultural and religious differences and come together as children of God to live in peace and love with one another and build Nigeria, our great nation in the spirit of oneness and unity.

There is no need for divide and rule, greed, anger, hatred, fighting, running one another and killings; enough is enough. Contribute positively to the growth of this nation even by using positive words.Rebranding Nigeria is good but let every Nigerian rebrand his or her thought and mind by purifying their hearts and loving God. Let us love our neighbours and be one another’s keeper. The rich should support and encourage the less privilege ones in our midst. Nigerians being intelligent and talented people should use their talents and intellects positively for the betterment of others and the country in particular. The government should do more to provide the most basic and necessary development infrastructure on the land and encourage unity at all levels. The spirit of love and oneness should transcend all levels of operations, from the federal to state governments, from public to private sectors, communities, religions, tribes, tongues, homes and families. The issue of former political office holders nominating people for public offices is wrong, whereby their use is in collecting dues. Let disputes and killings seize and let forgiveness and peace substitute and reign.Let the strive for a progressive nation excel for Nigeria is a blessed land where so much is embedded in, and will be revealed in the near future; but we must hearken to the voice of God.Nigeria being the abode of God has all that is needed in abundance but firstly and most importantly Nigerians need to streamline their ways right from the presidency to the individuals. Nigerians need to be spiritually minded, love and honour God in spirit and in truth for Nigeria has been shielded from economic downturn.

Nigerians should recognise God in their midst and know that the Holy Spirit is now ruling on earth hence appreciate Him for His love for the country. To be salvaged the socio political and economic doldrums, Nigeria should seek His divine intervention. For Niger Delta imbrioglio, the Niger Delta Governors and the Presidency should seek His intervention. The Governors of the affected states and the Federal government should be sincere and prudent in the useof God’s given resources and allocations. Besides, the Federal government should release the Niger Delta technical committees report and implement same. Government should be sincere and fulfil their electoral promise so that such will not be counted against them. Democracy in Nigeria for now cannot be murdered as to result to politically motivated assassinations, killings, hatred rather than a free and fair election devoid of ethnicity, etc. Above all truthfulness, accountability and transparency and all inclusive governance must be practiced rather than falsehood, because falsehood may have its hour, but it has no future. Truth prevails for ever.  Church leaders should tell their members the truth about God, not exploiting them all in God’s name. The problems in the Niger Delta should not be allowed beyond this level for it is already causing a lot of pains and fear in the minds of the average citizens. The cause of the problems should be identified and solution to the problem should be immediately addressed and dealt with. There should be genuine reconciliation between the Federal government and the militants.
The government of Nigeria and Nigerians have the solution to all their problems right within them yet they travel far and wide to seek external help. It is time to acknowledge what you have and seek God’s directives in all your endeavours. The different catastrophic occurrence in the entire world is as a result of man’s resistance to acknowledge the presence and the existence of God His Creator and abide by the divine instruction of loving one another.
Militants, in God’s name lay down your weapons; there is a better way of dealing with the situation. You might be thinking you are fighting the government but you are hurting the innocent ones and sabotaging the progress of the region and the nation. Companies are moving away and private sector closing down creating unemployment and poverty, so now I ask who is losing.
I call on all to beware of the false preachers, whose gospels are carnally driven and materially inspired and to the preachers who tell lies to their congregations, perform fake healings and force false confessions and fake testimonies all in effort to boost their membership and for material reasons to repent and beg God for forgiveness for judgement is at their doorstep.I also call on Nigeria journalists and media houses to use their good offices to write and publish the truth and expose corrupt practices in our society. They should not succumb to hearsay and rumours but make time to check and confirm information at their disposal and the source; because journalists have a duty to God, to fellow Nigerians and to themselves, to write facts, and to correct the ills in our society.
Let the peace and love of the Supreme Father abide with the President and Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the good people of Nigeria and the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the Name and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Thank You Father

His Holiness King Olumba Olumba Obu
