Home The Everlasting Gospel LEADER OLUMBA OBU NEVER FAILS

AN EVERLASTING GOSPEL DELIVERED BY HIS HOLINESS OLUMBA OLUMBA OBU ON MONDAY MORNING, 6TH AUGUST, 2012. (culled from BCS Online)

FIRST LESSON: 1st CORINTHIANS 10: 13

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

SECOND LESSON: MATTHEW 10: 18-20

And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

GOLDEN TEXT: ACTS 12: 1-11

Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision. When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him. And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

THEME: LEADER OLUMBA OBU NEVER FAILS

I see more gentlemen than women. Where are the women?

Spiritual chorus (Efik): ami mme bogho, ima Olumba anam mi mbogho.

Translation: Salvation is mine! The Love of Olumba has brought to me, salvation

How many believe in that spiritual chorus? You can see that our first lesson goes to confirm our spiritual chorus. Those of you with troubled minds and those of you who have come here with worries in your minds, worry no more for salvation has come to you. Does it not tell you how God loves us? He is close to us, He is there leading us. Whatever is your problem; He is there to salvage you. Even when they throw you into the furnace, He will be there for you.

I am sure you remember the story of Shedrack, Meshack and Abednigo; Nebuchadnezzar wanted to disgrace their God and he threw them into the furnace. If he had known they would not get burnt, he would not have thrown them into the furnace but God showed him that he was nothing. Nebuchadnezzar wanted the people to honour him, he wanted people to see what he can do and how he can destroy so that the people will clap for him instead the people were astonished because three men were thrown into the furnace but there were four men in the fire; even the men that threw them into the fire got burnt. The people ended up praising God and Nebuchadnezzar was disappointed. This is how your enemies will be disappointed so you do not have to worry for once you have God, He will overcome for you. Do you know the song the three men sang in the furnace?

Spiritual chorus (Efik): man kot enye yere, Leader Olumba Obu.

Translation: Whenever I call, He answers me, Leader Olumba Obu

FIRST LESSON RE-EXAMINED

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

- 1st CORINTHIANS 10: 13

Spiritual chorus (Efik): Abasi ofiok ndiyana mme moro etenede enye nsio k’idomo. Yung mum mme idiok owo nim ke itie fen tutu osim usen ikpe.

God in His wisdom saves those who reverence from temptation, yet also keeps the wicked in bondage till the day of Judgment

Dear brethren, God loves us and He is always with us. He moves with us and He will never allow anything to harm you. When you cry temptation, do you know whether that temptation is an antecedent of good? You are in the habit of complaining about things being evil, do you know whether something good can come out of that evil? You cry ‘God why are you tempting me!’ He has promised you that He will not give you a temptation that you will not be able to overcome and that will make you blaspheme against Him.

Nowadays people hear the voice of God, even Job attested that he used to hear the voice of God but now he has seen Him face to face. Are you not witnesses to what He has been doing for you? There is no evil; something evil, God can bring something good out of it. So do not complain that your husband, wife, children or relations are evil because God can change them to good.

Just like the story I told you yesterday about Christ Ambassador Joel; before the journey, there was a certain pastor from another church who saw him with soutane and knew that he is a member of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star so he picked quarrel with him but the Christ Ambassador kept his calm. Along the journey, there was wave, the pastor forgot about the quarrel and asked the Christ Ambassador to call on his father that he believes that it is only his father that can save them. The Christ Ambassador did not hesitate, he called on his father and a fish hit him on his back. Immediately, the pastor forgot about the wave and went for the fish because food is man’s problem but the Christ Ambassador stopped him saying that the fish was an agent of God and he spoke to the fish and returned it back to the Sea and immediately, everywhere was calm. Dear brethren, so you see something good came out of it even though they thought they would perish.

SECOND LESSON RE-EXAMINED

And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

- Matt: 10:18-20

Spiritual chorus: Nka iso nkut Olumba, fiak edem kut Olumba, ami nwoghode nkut Olumba ebiet eke nsanade, nsana ye enye.

Translation: Moving forward I see Olumba, Stepping backwards I see Olumba, Turning around I see Olumba, where I go, I walk with Him

- Act 12:1-11

When all hope is lost, the Saviour and Redeemer appear to save, redeem and protect you. The last spiritual chorus; do you know when it was composed? It was composed and rendered in the prison yard. The people who composed it were the high and mighty in the society, they did not believe they will find themselves as inmates in a prison and immediately they sang that song; they were saved. Your own situation is a minor thing; just believe in Him and put His words into practice and He will be there for you 24/7, He will not disappoint you. If you have Him, you have the whole world because He will be with you, walk with you toe-to-toe and even when you are sleeping, He will be with you.

Is it financial problem? No problem; if you owe people, He will make sure your account is settled and if people owe you, He will make sure they pay. Is it sickness? No problem; just surrender to Him and within the twinkling of an eye, your sickness will disappear. Surrender to Him, work for Him because you are His vineyard. What good are you if you do not work for Him? Work for Him because that is your assignment. Is it childbirth? How old was Sarah when she had her baby? There is nothing God cannot do for you just believe in Him. Do not lament because if you lament, it means you do not believe in Him. All those you see lamenting are unbelievers.

Spiritual chorus (Efik): Ami mman sin ne ofong idem ubong, nkpo isong nyomke aba.

Translation: When I put on the glorious garment, the spoils I regard no more

Dear brethren, with that spiritual chorus, I am stepping down.

A stroke of cane is enough for the wise. Let those who have ears, hear. May He alone bless His holy words. Amen

THANK YOU FATHER
