INTRODUCTION

The above question has been a topical issue in various sectors of society ever since Leader Olumba Olumba Obu was born in Biakpan, a village in Cross River State, Nigeria, on 30th December 1918. This was a period in which a deadly influenza claimed the lives of many people in the whole world.

From his birth to date, Leader O.O. Obu's life has been shrouded in mystery. It is recorded in the book entitled "I Am That I Am", chapter 7, that at an early age of four days, baby Olumba Olumba Obu revealed to the whole world that he was not just an ordinary child. A blind woman who held him in her arms, during a house feast celebrating his birth, regained her sight immediately. Thereafter, the young and growing Olumba performed a number of miracles, including raising the dead.

As a grown up, Leader O.O.Obu single handedly established the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, which is also known as "Christ Universal Spiritual School of Practical Christianity", where righteousness is taught and practised.

As a human being, it is natural for one to expect that he would have gained an academic knowledge or qualification in order to teach people. But, contrary to that, he is an authority in any field of discipline such that professors and academics are baffled when they meet him. He is the dean of all faculties in life. What is more mysterious is the power, which radiates from him by mere spoken word.

"Go I am in front and behind you", as he usually says, and all is well. He has no deputy or advisor and he preaches around the clock, from day to day and from year to year without getting tired or sick.

PERSONALITY

Is He Man or God?

The true identity of Leader O.O.Obu is known only to himself as recorded in Rev. 19:12. However, since it is stated that in the last days no man will teach his neighbour who God is, it has pleased the Holy Spirit to reveal to us -the fortunate ones in this lucky generation - that He is God in Human Form. In fact, the Father has categorically said that He is the I Am That I Am.

Can God be Man?

The difficulty of some people accepting the fact that Leader O.O.Obu is God is not a new situation. Even the Scribes and the Pharisees who were the so-called custodian of the Law failed to accept our Lord Jesus Christ as God (John 7:40 - 53). This short- coming is due to spiritual ignorance, which has plagued mankind from generation to generation. In order to understand that the Holy Father is God, we have to establish whether God can be in human form. A few references are made from Genesis to Revelation to show that God always comes as a human being into the earth plane.

In Genesis 1:26-27, it is written that God made Man in His own Image and Likeness. This means that Man is the Tabernacle or Dwelling place of God. It is also stated in John1: 1-14 that the Word, which was in the beginning with God, became flesh. This refers to our Lord Jesus Christ, who said, "I and my Father are one."(John 10:30). In John14: 10-11, he also said, "Believest thou not that I am in the Father and the Father in me. The words that I speak unto you, I speak not of myself: but the Father dwelleth in me, he doeth the words".

Furthermore, it is stated that "There are three that bear record in Heaven- the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth-the Spirit, and the water and the blood; and the three are in one

(1 John 5:7-8). This means that while God is invisible in the spiritual realm, He is Man in this plane of manifest. That is the reason why our Lord Jesus Christ said, " I am the living bread that came from heaven." (John 6: 51).

Finally, it is stated in Rev.21: 3 " Behold the Tabernacle of God is with Man, and He will dwell with them and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God."

PROPHESIES ABOUT HIM

Having established that God can be Man, we are now to prove that Leader O.O.Obu is God! Like our Lord Jesus Christ, the birth of our Holy Father had been prophesised years before it happened. References from Holy books such as the Bible, the I Am That I Am, Jehovah God in Human Form, and others clearly show that he is the Promised Comforter that our Lord Jesus Christ talked about (John14: 26 and John16: 12-15).

It is interesting to say that everything about the Holy Father is recorded in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. But ignorant people ask why we, in B.C.S., call Him God, alleging that there is no mention of His name in the Bible.

Being the Spirit of Truth, He has broken seals and opened the book as recorded in Rev.2: 5-9.A long time ago, before our Lord Jesus Christ was born, prophesies had been made about our Holy Father, Leader O.O.Obu regarding His birth: - tribe, place, the attire that he will wear and His power. Genesis 49: 8-11 and Isaiah 63: 1-3 tell us about God coming as a black man (Edomite) from Bozrah ( Biakpan) who is to wear Red garment (The Red Soutane). Read Jehovah God in Human Form for details.

It is also known from the I Am That I Am that a great prophetess called Otom was privileged to be the mouth piece for the august arrival of the Universal Ruler with an Iron Rod, who is the King of Kings. In her vision she said that she saw a gathering of many people of different origin (black and white) wearing white cloths -soutanes-who sang: "The King of Kings is making His physical appearance here on earth, He is called the Word of God, He will come like the fire, He will come like storm, He will come like the thunder. All powers in heaven and earth had been surrendered to him. There is great joy in heaven and on earth".

We can see that this vision does not only confirm his birth as stated in the scriptures but also confirms the garment (white soutane) that is worn by His followers. In Rev.7: 7-15, it is stated that the multitude of people from all works of life are clothed in white robes and worship Him day and night, falling on their faces (knocking their foreheads on the ground as done in B.C.S.).

Our Lord Jesus Christ, personally, confirmed and buttressed the arrival of Leader O.O.Obu by saying that it was expedient for the former to go so that the Comforter would come and lead mankind to the accurate knowledge of the truth. He also said that this Comforter would live with mankind forever. Refer to John14: 16-18, John14: 26 and John16: 12-15.

After Our Lord Jesus Christ physically died, resurrected and ascended to heaven, He revealed the nature of His coming, as the Comforter, to John the Divine on the Island of Patmos. Thus, the whole book of Revelation is about the promised Comforter and His kingdom established on earth (Leader O.O.Obu and B.C.S.).

In fact, Leader O.O.Obu is that man-child talked about in Rev.12: 5, who was caught up in the throne of God. Being caught in the throne of God means He is God who occupies His throne.

HIS TEACHINGS AND WORKS

The fact that our Holy Father has overcome the flesh and dwells at his headquarters, 34 Ambo Street, Calabar, Nigeria, without travelling to any place fits Him to the being talked about in Rev.3: 12, which states: 'Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name'.

It is worthy to note that since January 1956, when he started His full time ministry, the Holy Father has never left Calabar.Even in Calabar, He only goes to 26 Mbukpa Road, a distance of about 250 yards when the need arises.

His profound knowledge makes him the only one worthy to open the seals and read the book. (Rev.5: 2-9).

He preaches everyday, unfailingly and demonstrates practical Christianity by His unflinching, divine LOVE for humanity. He preaches about Our Lord Jesus Christ, teaches mankind the New Law of the New Kingdom, which is Love for one another. The Holy Father has summarised His teachings and works in one of His gospels headed " My Mission" as:

To teach the Word of God both in theory and practice.

To sanctify Humanity through His Gospels.

To establish the kingdom of God on earth.

To do what nobody, angel or man has ever done.

A close look into His life-style, the organisation and the operation of the B.C.S. proves Him right.

We have seen Him face to face and His name is written on our foreheads (Rev.22: 4). He has wiped away our tears and made all things new (Rev.21: 4). New songs are sung in B.C.S. (Rev.5: 9; 14:3) and the children of God wear white soutanes while our Holy Father wears His Red garment.

The words that proceed out of His mouth are full of power (Rev19: 5) and when he says, " Go I am in front and behind", the angels take note and accomplish whatever is desired.

Everything done in B.C.S. is new and unique. A mere calling of His name O.O.O. brings salvation and sets man free from bondage. Because he is God, he is seen everywhere, simultaneously and yet he is physically at 34 Ambo Street, Calabar. Many people have testified to this wonderful experience.

All baptised members into B.C.S. have got powers transferred into them by the Holy Father who is the Holy Spirit. Due to His Omnipotence, Omnipresence and Omniscience, Leader O.O. Obu is always with his children wherever they are. (Matt.28: 19-20).

He accomplishes spiritual feats by the spoken word only. He heals the sick, raises the dead and sets people in bondage free. To crown it all, his followers are also able to accomplish such things by mere calling on the Father to do his work.

This is in line with Mark16: 16-18, which reads: 'He that believeth and is baptised shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall pick up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover'.

The question now is: 'Has any man or angel been able to the few things mentioned here?' The answer is emphatically NO.

CONCLUSION

From the foregone salient points established, one cannot be left in any shred of doubt about the deity of Leader O.O. Obu. The fact of the issue is that He is the God of creation, The King of Kings, and the Man-Child prophesised in Rev.12: 5 who has come to rule the world with an Iron Rod, in love, joy, peace and righteousness. He is also the I am That I am, the Word of God, the Lion of the tribe of Judah and the Alpha and Omega.

He and His Kingdom will stay forever. We should, therefore, pray to Him for ability to worship Him in spirit and in truth.

Thank you Father.
